How do I remove the device, "USB device is not working" ...... ?
This message continues to pop up even when I think I've deleted it.  When it does pop up, my mouse freezes so I have to restart my PC. Sometimes it doesn't pop up, but most of the time it does. I'm getting very aggrevated.  I have Window 8.1. Thank you.

Hi,

I infer the problem may be caused by the driver issue or the conflicting software. You can first try the Device Manager to solve it.

  1. Right click This PC > Manage > Device Manager.
  2. Click Mice and other pointing devices, and right click the mouse you use > Properties > General > Device Status
  3. According to the error code you see, and refer the link below to troubleshoot.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Cc771355(v=WS.10).aspx

If the steps above doesnt work for the issue, we consider that the cause is conflicting software or other reasons. I suggest you can follow the steps below.

      1. Use clean boot to check conflict software. Refer the link below to know how to perform.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

      2. Scan the virus in safe mode because the virus may block the module of anti-virus.

      3. Download the Hotfix in the link below to repair the problem if you havent installed it. Refer the link to download it.
